Violence Against Women: From Silence to Empowerment is a 102-page Partnership advocacy publication edited by senior researcher Don Brandt with a foreword by Fatuma Hashi, Partnership director of gender and development.

The book contains seven perspectives by World Vision authors on violence against women and girls. The authors show that gender-based violence has diverse manifestatins and that the scale of the problem is enormous in both its severity and frequency.

The case studies from Chile, Tanzania, the Balkans, Rwanda, Europe and Papua New Guinea explore the causes of violence against women, the impacts on development and possible solutions. The authors are Paula Saez and Alejandro Cartes, Sekai Nzenza-Shand, Sara Austin, Ruth Kahurananga and Monalisa Kileo, Brenda Fitzpatrick, Sylvia Mpaayei, and Frieda Kana.
